Phases of petroleum industry                              There are two phases of petroleum industries.       1.  Drilling.       2.  Production.  1. Drilling :                 Drilling  is a cutting process that uses                    a  drill  bit to cut a hole of circular                    cross-section in solid materials.                   The  drill  bit is usually a rotary cutting tool,                    often multi-point. The bit is pressed                     against the work-piece and rotated at             ...

Well Control System on Drilling Rig.

Image
Well Control System: well control during drilling the various systems put in place to control well and prevent a blowout incident from occurring we will also review the main reasons behind some of AD CO-Es  well control incidents which were handled successfully prior to the preparation of the drilling program the asset development team submits the final well prognosis to the drilling team the well prognosis is initiated by the petroleum engineer the reservoir engineer then makes a planning overview and provides the required formation pressures and temperatures then the following data is completed geodetic data conceptual data geological data reservoir data geophysical data and petrol physical data once all the data is entered the well prognosis will be approved by the reservoir operations asset team leader and will be published in ad Co system let's begin by explaining well control while drilling it is essential to perform activities in a safe way which will prevent uncontrolled fl...

How petroleum was formed, its extraction, refining and uses

Image
PETROLEUM:      petroleum is also a fossil fuel which means it is formed from the remains of dead organisms but it is liquid as the process of its formation was much different from the formation of coal petroleum was formed from the remains of sea creatures as they died their body settled at the bottom of sea or ocean and gradually got covered by   EXPLANATION over mill ion of years absence  of air high temperature and high pressure transformed the dead organisms into petroleum and natural gas all of us know how important petrol diesel etc are we get this fuels from petroleum we also get kerosene from petroleum petroleum needs to be refined in the refineries to get these fuels raw petroleum or crude oil is a dark oily liquid within unpleasant smell it is extracted from Earth's crust through a deep oil well a huge pump extracts the petroleum through this deep oil well patella is a complex mixture petroleum refining means separating its components and it is carrie...
